Perhaps you can help us. Mitchell Area Genealogical Society has a Davison County Cemetery Index to 1980, but we have conflicting information on Emma C. NORRIS. She's buried in Graceland Cem., Mitchell, Davison Co., Addition 2, Section 11, Lot 88. We think the correct information is that she died 21 Nov. 1909, aged 46-1-27, from gallstones. Was she born in 1863, in West Virginia of parents b. (W) VA?
John Cornelius McNARY (20 Oct. 1850/1, Fishkill, Dutchess Co., NY - 29 Feb. 1940, of uremia), last res. 727 S. Minnesota St., Mitchell, bu. with Emma. John was son of Cornelius McNARY (ca. 1820, NY - bu. 19 Aug. 1920), who m. 1848, Elizabeth SHEPHERD / SHEPARD (1824, NY - 20 July 1923, fractured femur). They celebrated their 67th anniversary, per 14 Jan. 1915, Capital (newspaper).

The 1900 Census, Rosedale, Hanson Co., says that John McNARY & wf. Emily J. had only five living children out of nine. The 1910 Census says there were five living children out of ten. Sorry, I don't know the names of the missing children. They're not in our burial records for Davison & Hanson Cos., SD. Since we don't know the marriage date, the first child could have been b. 1883, Iowa or Minnesota. There could have been two children born in Minnesota between Hattie, b. 1884, MN, & Addie, 1889, SD. Since Emma was about 37 when John was born in 1899, she could have had another child after the 1900 census, which would have made the tenth one. The spacing of the other children is questionable because ages vary on the censuses. If Ella's age at death was correct, then she was b. May 1893, not 1892 as the 1900 census says. That would make nearly four years between Addie, 1889, & Ella. Any one of those could have been a Ruth, but we have no record. Sorry.
Dau. Ella is buried with John C. McNARY & Emma, Graceland, Mitchell, Davison Co., SD. She died in Spokane, WA, 11 Apr. 1921, aged 27, married name LITTEL, husband's first name not in our records.
