Notes for James Martin Beach MCNARY
According the the family history of the McNary Family Samuel had two sons, James M.B. a druggist in New York City, and Samuel R. a druggist in Hartford, CT.
In the 1850 census James was counted at Hartford, Connecticut with no other family members. In 1860, he was at Hartford with his wife and 3 children. In 1870 he was at New York City listed as a druggist. His children were in Connecticut. His wife died at about 1870, and he died in 1908 at Brooklyn.

Obituary
James M. B. Mac Nary.
James Martin Beach MacNary died suddenly yesterday of apoplexy at his residence at 538 Putnam avenue. The interment will be at Hartford, Conn. The deceased was for many years foreign buyer for the firm of Caswell, Hazard & Co., of Fifth avenue, Manhattan, and he had been a wholesale druggist with the firm of Lord, Huntington & MacNary, Still later was in business at Hancock street and Bedford avenue, retiring then years ago. He wa a charter member of the Apollo Club of Manhattan and he had long been a member of the Union League Club of Brooklyn. He was born at Springfield, Mass. September 2, 1827 and has home for twenty-five years pas was in this borough. He was a member of Holy Trinity P.E. Church and is survived by a sister, Mrs. J.N. Oviatt of West Hartford, Conn. And a son and three daughters.

James M.B. MacNary, giving to his sister, Martha Oviatt, of West Hartford, Conn., the sum of $200, and the residue of his property to his Executrix, Abbie C. Howard, in trust, to lease or sell his real estate and from the proceeds to pay and distribute to herself and to his other daughter, Alice B. MacNary, each a half share of the income until the difision of the estate between the same beneficiaries, the survivor to take all in the event of the death of either without issue.
