MR. MCNARY, ALBANY POSTAL AIDE, DIES
George A. McNary, 64 of Cedar Hill, Selkirk, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and former superintendent of registered mail at Albany Post Office, died Saturday in Albany Veteran’s Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Albany and had resided there for several years before moving to Cendar Hill. He had been employed at the post office for 35 years prior to his illness.
He was a member of the Bethlehem Lodge of Elks, Disabled American Veterans, Va De Loo Miller Post of the American Legion, Capital City Branch, National Association of Letter Carriers, and National Postal Supervisors Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former Stella A. Jenenka; three sons, James H., of Eagle Mills, George A. of Couse Corners, and John J. McNary of Rensselaer; a brother, Harry W. McNary of Albany, seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the William J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, and 10 a.m. from St. John’s Church, Albany where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated
Interment will be St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
