Notes for Michael OVERACKER
Michael is said to have served in the Revolutionary War. No documentation has
surfaced to prove this yet. A Michael Overacker, Sr. was listed as serving, but
I tend to believe it was his nephew, Michael, and not he.
Michael's will names "my eight children". It doesn't name Eve, but no one by
the name of Lavica was mentioned in the disbursement of the property for
Michael's estate--Eve was.
Source: Place of birth, Settlers Of The Beekman Patent, Frank Doherty. Further
confirmation of Germany as the birthplace of the first generation Overackers is
found in the will of Wendell Overacker of Danube, Herkimer County in 1817
wherein Wendell bequeaths his German books to his son Daniel.
Michael was probably born in Baden, Germany.
